A podcast.\u00a0 A book.\u00a0 A film.\u00a0 A stage play.\u00a0 An episode of\u00a0Law & Order<\/em>.\u00a0 What is it about Henrietta Lack’s compelling history that inspires the expression of her story in five different art forms?\u00a0 This talk will examine which plot points are included in all of these retellings of a similar tale, which are not, and what it is that makes a story worth telling (and retelling!).

GINNA HOBEN is an actor\/writer\/theatre professor.\u00a0 Her most recent play, \u201cNo Spring Chicken\u201d premiered at NextStop Theatre as part of D.C.\u2019s Women\u2019s Voices Theatre Festival in 2015.\u00a0 Ginna\u2019s play, \u201cThe Twelve Dates of Christmas\u201d has enjoyed over fifty productions nation and worldwide.\u00a0 Other produced plays include the \u201cwind-chill factor\u201d, \u201ctelephone\u201d, and \u201cSpit Spat Splendor Spite.\u201d She has also been a writer\/producer for the Emmy nominated TV show, \u201cBrain Games.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0
