{"id":42,"date":"2022-06-09T15:12:11","date_gmt":"2022-06-09T15:12:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lakerblogs.lssu.edu\/tedxlssu\/?page_id=42"},"modified":"2022-08-27T14:46:41","modified_gmt":"2022-08-27T14:46:41","slug":"call-for-proposals","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lakerblogs.lssu.edu\/tedxlssu\/call-for-proposals\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Proposals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The TEDxLSSU 2023 Planning Committee is seeking proposals from potential speakers for our March 2023 event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>TEDxLSSU 2023 theme is &#8220;Identity&#8221;<\/strong>, and we are very excited to see what new directions our speakers take this concept.&nbsp; We are seeking talks that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>share a new idea with the audience;<\/li><li>show your enthusiasm for your subject;<\/li><li>tell a story that takes listeners on a journey;<\/li><li>show the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives, and the world.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speakers selected for TEDxLSSU 2023 are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>expected to adhere to the <a href=\"http:\/\/storage.ted.com\/tedx\/manuals\/tedxcontentguidelines.pdf\">TED talk guidelines<\/a>; talks should not have commercial, religious or political agendas, and should utilize only good science;<\/li><li>expected to learn their speech and not rely on stage notes during the event;<\/li><li>required to take advantage of the coaching offered by TEDxLSSU when preparing for their talk to ensure they &#8220;hit a home run&#8221; when they speak at TEDxLSSU 2023.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re interested in being a speaker at TEDxLSSU 2023, please fill out our <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/Zgvq32wkGpgMm6aX9\">Speaker Application<\/a>.&nbsp; <em><strong>The deadline for applying is Friday, September 29, at 5pm.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Want to learn more about what makes a TED Talk different from other presentations?
